Stories of Hope

“When I lost my job and hit rock bottom, I didn’t know how I was going to make it as a single parent of three. I was struggling, wanting to do better for my kids, but I just needed help to get back on track. A friend of mine told me about a lady name Ms. Sanders who I later found out was starting a non-profit called Women of Power.

Ms. Sanders stepped in and truly changed our lives. She never judged me—instead, she saw me, listened to me, and offered genuine support. She helped me find housing, provided clothing for me and my children, and connected us with other community resources that gave us a sense of stability and hope. She put us in a hotel for a week until some other resources became available.

I can’t thank them enough for helping us during my hardest moments. of my life. Their kindness and dedication gave me the strength to keep going and start building a better future for my family. We are forever grateful. "

"When I was going through the scariest and uncertain times of my life—trapped in a domestic violence situation with my young son—I felt hopeless and alone. I didn’t know where to turn or how we would survive. That’s when I found Women of Power, and everything began to change.

From the very first conversation, I felt relief and began to feel hopeful. They didn’t just offer me kind words—they took real action. With their help, I was able to safely leave my situation and get into secure housing for myself and my son. They helped us find peace, stability, and a fresh start.

But Women of Power didn’t stop there. They’ve continued to support me emotionally and spiritually. Whether it’s connecting me to resources, helping with basic needs, or simply checking in to remind me I’m not alone, this organization has truly been a lifeline.

They are constantly reaching out to help women rise from hardship and walk boldly into a better future. Their impact is real, and I am living proof. I am no longer a victim—I am a survivor, a provider, and a woman rebuilding her life. And I owe so much of that to Women of Power".

"Ms. Sanders and her amazing team @ WOP have been very helpful to me and 4 children. I was going through some very tough times and going through a domestic violence situation, and they helped me escape many years of abuse. They gave me hope and a sense of peace and security for the moment.

We didn't have a place to sleep until I found WOP. They gave us a place to stay, transportation was available for school, they connected us to counselors, provided a clothes voucher, and the list continues.

I am so appreciative of them. She/they are truly heaven-sent".

Survivors are not defined by their past but by the strength it took to rebuild their lives.
